Leslie was sitting in the hair salon with Maddie in her lap, trying to keep the poor baby calm since everyone was eager to touch her and she was getting irate. She had the hairdresser stop so that her daughter would be happy first. “Its okay, Turnip.” She said, kissing her cheek. “When we get to Nanny and Papa’s house, mummy will put you in a pretty white dress. Then we will get to see daddy, I know it’s been terrible not seeing him, I miss him too.” She told Maddie then saw both her mother and Karen watching her with smiles. “What?” She asked, confused before stopping Jessie from running by her. “Please set a good example for Nyla and Dolly.” She finished bust before the two younger girls came running by, the smaller of two hardly walking straight at all. Her eyes going to Katie who looked like she was itching to join in. “Yes, Auntie…” Jessie said defeatedly. Leslie sat back and looked at Maddie who was watching everyone with curiosity. “Okay baby, I have to get my hair done…” She told her, walking over to the mothers and went to hand her off to her mother and Maddie started crying. Taking a moment to calm her, she moved over to her mother-in-law and handed Maddie over without a tear. The look she gave to her mother was apologetic, but aside from Leslie and Gabe, Maddie spent lots of time with Karen. Once her hair and everyone else’s hair was done they paid; Leslie for her own, Karen, Emma, Margaret, and Katie’s; they went each their own way. The Duke party went back to her parent’s house, and the Law party with the exception of Emma back to Mikael’s house. With Leslie in the driver’s seat of her father’s SUV, she was almost to the house when Maddie started screaming at the top of her lungs. “Uhhhh, can someone grab her bottle please?” She asked frantically, tossing the cooler bag with the bottles into the backseat only to hear the cries die out soon after. With her sister and sister-in-law’s cars close in tow, she went into the driveway first and drove into the garage. Once they were in the house, Leslie sat down for a small bite to eat, feeling a little faint then set to work on prepping another bottle of milk for Maddie in the room where she sat facing her wedding dress. She wanted to make sure that her daughter had plenty to eat since after the reception it would be only the three grandparents until the following morning. The one thing, above all else was that on top of the bottles that were coming to the ceremony and reception, Leslie had to remember the other milk just in case the bottles weren’t enough. Mya peeked in and looked at Leslie weirdly as she sat there on the bed hooked up to a suction cup with a tube. “Gross. Is there anything I can do though? Get Maddie ready? Fix you anything to eat?” She asked, her eyes still not leaving the contraption. “Ummm, I don’t think so right now. Maddie will be the last to get ready and I’ll do it, because she will need to be fed before I get into the dress and then changed before she is put into her dress.” She said as she unhooked herself and set everything the right way. As she sat there looking that the gorgeous dress her mind wandered to the last time she wore it and she started tearing up. She was starting to get nervous for the day, what if Gabe didn’t show up like Landon didn’t. Mya, almost sensing what was going on in Leslie’s mind moved over to the bed to sit next to her and hugged her tightly. “He’ll be there. And if he’s not, I’ll murder Landon, then Gabe; but really, he’ll be there. He would be crazy not to.” She murmured then patted Leslie on the back. “We’ll go and start getting ready and then when you and your baby are ready, we’ll get you in your dress.” She said, getting up and leaving Leslie to her contraption. Within an hour and a half, everyone was ready, pictures were taken and they were on their way to the church with her Emma, Mya and Lena in the limo while her parents followed in their vehicles with car seats for all the children. Grabbing Maddie from her father, she held her close, going into the lobby of the church. |

Gabe was stood nervously at the altar. Waiting. Fidgeting. He had no qualms about Leslie leaving him at the altar, yet he was just still incredibly nervous. He’d been like that all day at Leslie’s brother Mikel’s house, getting ready with his groomsmen and best man, along with his mother who had returned from pampering herself with the bridal party. Of course, his mother hadn’t told him anything... wouldn’t him anything, other than everything was just fine. He hadn’t seen Leslie since the previous evening when he left for Mikel’s, nor Maddie and already he was anxious to see his daughter and the soon to be Mrs Duke. He’d forced down a cooked breakfast of eggs, sausage and bacon to keep his strength up and even a whiskey to try and steady his nerves before he reached the altar. What if he messed up the vows? What if he froze? Or she froze? Or what if Leslie was having doubts? Of course, when he’d voiced this worries, he’d been told he was a daft sod and was shoved off for a shower and a shave, before getting into his tux. Gabe made sure to give Chris the rings, trusting him as best man to look after them. From then, it was just a case of waiting until it was time to go. When his mother had arrived, straightened his collar and tie, and pinned the flower to his button hole, all in the most mother fashion and like the others, told her he was just being silly. There was nothing to be nervous about. ’Leslie loves you, you daft sod and you adore her. You’re both going to be fine.' The car had arrived not long after his mother with a few deep breaths, Gabe had filed inside with his mother, best man Chris and groomsmen, Kevin and Carter to the church. Inside, the church was beautifully decorated, with a few bows at the end of the pews, flowers. Simple. Elegant. A few people had already begun to arrive and Gabe took a seat up at the front by the alter with the groom’s party, trying to remember to breath. This was his wedding day. It was finally here. He was getting married, to Leslie. Now he just had to wait for the wedding party to arrive. He couldn’t wait to see the future Mrs Leslie Duke. ”I can’t believe I’m getting married...” he muttered aloud to no one in particular.[/I] Edited by Gabriel Law, Oct 23 2009, 07:00 PM.

Emma couldnt believe her cousin was actually getting married and she was getting a sister-in-law... well technically cousin but Gabe had always been the closest thing she had to an older brother. She'd spent the afternoon with the bridal party, having her hair done and getting ready, as well helping make sure that Leslie wasn't overcome with nerves. Emma had Katie with her, all wriggles, watching her surrounding with interest. Leslie's nieces and nephews were adorable, not to mention little Maddie in her gorgeous little white dress. Dressed in her dark blue bridesmaid's dress, Emma followed the bridal party into the limo arriving not long after at the church and following them into the lobby, balancing Katie on her hip, where she was happily babbling away to herself. She made her way over the the bride, smiling at Mr Duke and little Maddie. "You excited, Hun? Not long now, then we'll be family and you'll be Mrs Duke." Emma grinned, reaching forward to hug Leslie. "I know Gabe's excited. You look beautiful, Hun. Good luck." |

Making her way into the church, Viki made her way to the groom's side of the church, taking a seat and glancing around her. She knew the groom of course, stood at the front of the church waiting for the bridal party to arrive. Her step-son. She was making the effort. She and Liam had recieved thir invitation a while ago and Liam had umm'd and ahhh'd about whether or not to go. In the end Viki had RSVP'd for them, saying they would both attend but making it clear that it would be up to Liam whether ot not he attended on the day. Viki had left that afternoon with Liam still unsure, unsure what he'd say, mentioning the fact that his ex-wife and her family would be there and it would likely be awkward. In the end she had left without him. If he wanted to come, he knew whether they were. For a man who could be so stubborn and strong-willed he was, in her opinion being rather weak when it came to reconnecting with his son... Viki sat in her seat, taking in the beautiful decoration of the church, the various faces she'd likely meet at the reception and the nervous expression on her step-son's face. She rather liked happy couple. What was there to not like. They were a wonderful couple. Sitting back, Viki, waiting for the the ceremony to begin. Edited by Victoria Cole, Oct 23 2009, 08:12 PM.

Maybe going to such a wedding was a really weird idea, but it didn`t seem to matter to Edward. He figured that for once he actually wanted to see a normal wedding, where the bride wasn`t freaking out or anything. Elisabeth didn`t want to go though – she had been feeling bad lately and it felt more and more obvious that she couldn`t stay around for much longer. She wasn`t even supposed to be alive. The thought of it really didn`t make Edward happy – but that was probably the true reason why was he going to the wedding. He couldn`t stand being at home anymore, witnessing what might happen. He really did need a break from all of that. As he walked inside the church he glanced around. It wasn`t like he really knew any of the people. Just Victoria mentioned it and as he woke up that day he decided to go. Rest his eyes for a bit. At last noticing Victoria he moved towards her – better than to be alone all the time – and sat behind her. Wedding. Right. One place you would not expect to see Edward. ”Is this one of those weddings where everyone cries?” he asked her silently, announcing about him being there. |

In response to Gabe, Kevin brightened as he fixed his cuff and answered the half-spoken remark. "First day of the rest of your life, mate." As for himself? He had eyes for no one but his wife when she entered. He supposed it was a little selfish of him; Leslie had to look stunning, but then he wasn't supposed to see her yet. Nor was Gabe. So he figured it was fine that his own eyes were just seeking out Emma. They'd had to put their plans to go flying on hold, but for this? Utterly and completely worth it. He might have been spending too much time with Abi, because he was getting slightly emotional that his cousin in law was getting married. Of course, he'd been extremely honored that Gabe had asked him to be a groomsman, and had gladly stepped into position with him. Kevin was beaming as he grinned sheepishly back at Gabe and said as consolingly as possible, "You'll be brilliant. Don't worry about it." Strangely enough, it had been Gabe himself that acted the big-brother role to Kevin when it came to having married Emma. Now he felt a bit as though that had reversed, a fact that simply made him smile more. |

Hearing a voice close by Victoria turned and met Edward Grant with a pleasant smile of greeting. The pair had only met a couple of times - first at his daughter's wedding to William's father and since then only once or twice. Victoria was carefully to keep in contact with many of the more well-known Pureblood familes and the Grants were one of them. She remembered mentioning that her step-son was getting married and Edward must be there out of curiosity or boredom, or perhaps some other reason. She didn't think to question. "There's nothing wrong with crying at a wedding, or showing emotion for that matter," Victoria stated firmly, although the polite smile never left her face. "Although I'm sure Leslie and Gabe's wedding will be quite different to your daughers." Leslie and Gabe had decided to keep their ceremony and reseption simple and elegant. |

"First day of the rest of my life..." Gabe repeated slowly, almost as if the meaning of the words were only just sinking in. But the more he thought about them, the more he was positive that deciding to spend the rest of his life with Leslie was the best decision he'd ever made. He was going to be happy. He was going to love it. Gabe was sure. Yes, he was still nervous... but excitement was building also. He returned the grin he recieved from Kevin, glad he'd ask'd his brother-in-law to be his groomsman. "Really? Cheers, Kevin. I mean it." Gabe pulled Kevin into a manly hug, his own grin now sheepish. "I mean, over two years with my cousin... You're one of the best people to have around. Right?" He laughed, feeling some of his nerves ebbing away. "Got any tips for a happy, lasting marriage?" |

Leslie was standing with her father fussing with Maddie's dress constantly readjusting it while she was cradled in her arm, there was no way Leslie would be able to hand her off if Maddie fell asleep. Seeing Emma was a relief, having all her family and her soon to be newly acquired one, with her was important and Emma especially. She knew Gabe the best and it was comforting to have her around. "Hey, of course I am excited, but I could do without the nerves. That and I have a baby that will become my bouquet if she falls asleep." She smiled. "But in all honesty, I can't wait. Soon we'll be family." She echoed Emma's sentiments. When Emma came in for the hug, Leslie gladly hugged back. "Thank you for everything Emma." She murmured in her ear. When they pulled apart she leaned down a little to Katie. "And thank you too, sweet pea." She give Katie a quick peck on the cheek. Lena came towards Leslie with Maddie's soother in hand. The sisters already had this planned. Even though Maddie played strange with Lena, the soother would put her to sleep almost immediately. "Now, now Madeline... its okay." She cooed as Maddie started crying. Leaning down, she kissed Maddie on the forehead and put the soother in her mouth. Stepping back slowly to make sure Maddie didn't get upset, she saw her little brother. "Tor! Take this to Gabe!" She hissed beckoning him over. When he came over she reached into ehr dress and pulled out a note for Gabe. It was just something for him to read, nothing complicated or overly sentimental, they had the next 45 minutes for the sappy stuff. She just wanted to give him reassurance that she was there. Looking at his big sister weirdly he took the note. "Next time, don't stick it somewhere where I am sure to not want to touch whaatever comes out." He rolled his eyes and walked with his girlfriend into the room. With a smile, Leslie looked back at Emma. "Just last minute thoughts." She said, addressing the note that she gave her brother. "Is your mum going to take Katie for the ceremony?" She asked, not that she'd have a problem if Emma held her. But they'd be standing for the majority of the ceremony and Emma was expecting, it was surely not a good thing. "How is the baby, by the way?" Something small, just keep her mind off the nerves. |

Letting Lara's hand go at the church, he left her in the lobby. He knew his brother was there because he heard from Andy that he was. Walking to sit next to Victoria, he sat behind his brother who was looking ahead of him. Leaning forward with a wicked smile will opened his mouth. "So when did they let the monkeys out of the cage?" he asked with a laugh, addressing tux Carter was in. Not once in his life had he seen Carter in a tux. "Keep the lab coat. Ditch this one." Will suggested. Looking around Will saw some faces he knew and most he didn't but that was only because they were Leslie's family. They were Muggles so he highly doubted that any one of the guests from home would know them. |

Carter was minding his own business. Sure he was touched Gabe asked him to be in the wedding party. Truth was, he'd never been in a wedding party, or been to many weddings so he just stayed quiet and did as the lasy with the thing on her head (microphone) told him, she seemed to be the one in control here. Nearly jumping in the air, Carter turned around to see his little brother and he was half tempted to smack him but he laughed instead. Today was a happy occasion. "Yeah, you're looking too put together... where's the tights? And shouldn't you be off pranking someone?" He asked a sneer on his face. |

Arriving at the church, Lara gave Will's hand a squeeze as he disappeared into the church, no doubt to find a seat or bother his cousin who was a groomsman. Lara headed straight for the bride, catching sight of Leslie instantly passing Maddie over to another woman and chatting to another, who looked a little like her step-brother, with a small toddler on her own hip. She waited patiently while they talked taking note that this must be Emma, Gabe's cousin. She'd heard a ot about her. So the little girl in her arms must have been Katie. "Ugh... I could take her..." Lara spoke up before she could stop herself, stepping forward with a small smile. "Emma? Im Lara. Gabe's step-sister...." They'd never been introduced. Lara then then turned to greet Leslie and Maddie, reaching to hug Leslie and waving at Maddie as she passed hands, soother in her mouth. "I can't believe you're getting married! You look beautiful." Lara was already starting to see Leslie as a big sister. "Will's already gone to find a seat. I never realized you had such a big family." She smiled down at Katie who was reached across to touch her long hair. "I don't mind looking after her, if your mum would like the break." |

Leslie had been paying a lot of attnetion to both her daughter and Katie to take her nerves away from the waiting. When Lara came over, Leslie smiled and put her arm around her. "Hey Lara, Will looking for Carter?" She asked. She'd had a chance to meet all of Will's family, the pleasant and not so leasant ones. But She also knew from the virus that Will and Carter were brothers. Smiling as she waved at Maddie, the poor little one was fighting the sleepiness she had. "That's my older sister Lena, we look alike except she kept the blonde." She smiled as she gestured to her own black hair. "My family is huge, they're still coming. Without taking in cousins, aunts and uncles, theres my parents, four of us, four spouses, and six grandchildren. My extended family is ridiculous. Lara, this is my dad, Stephen Duke." She smiled then saw how Lara was taken with Katie. Nodding to Emma. "She's a good person Em. Katie will be fine with her, and Will is great with kids, he said he has lots of practice with his sister's kids." She vouched, really not wanting Emma to have to hold Katie for the whole ceremony. |

"Nerves are perfectly healthy, so I hear. Although I can't say that from personal experience. Kevin sort of surprised me with our wedding, so I didn't have time to build up any nerves." Not that Emma would have it any way. "You'll be fine." She hugged Leslie close, careful not to rumple her dress or squish Maddie and Katie. "You don't have to thank me for anything," she shrugged, Katie beaming as Leslie gave her a kiss. Emma watched on curiously as Maddie started crying and was given her soother, before being passed to Leslie's sister. "I guess she's just tired. Lot's of excitement." She ddin't ask what was on the note to her cousin. That was their business, although she was curious. When a young women, no more than nineteen or twenty came forward, seeming to know Leslie and knowing her name, Emma smiled back. Katie seemed quite taken with her, reaching for her hair. So this was Gabe's step-sister. She'd heard a little about her and that she was going out Andy's younger brother. "Pleased to meet you, Lara." While Katie reached for Lara's long hair, babbling away, Emma turned back to Leslie's questions. "Mum said she'd take her if I asked." He hand lowered over the rounded bump of her stomach. "The baby's fine. Kevin and I are convinced we're having a little boy. We're thinking of calling him Toby." She grinned down at Katie. "Will you be extending your brood?" Emma was a little surprised when Lara volunteered to look after Katie when they had only just properly been introduced now, but Katie seemed to like her and Leslie was vouching for her her. Lara seemed trust worthy and if Leslie was right and her boyfriend, Will was used to looking after his nephews, Katie would be safe and Emma and her family wouldn't be far off to watch them. "I dont see why not. She seems to have taken a liking to you." Emma passed her over, Katie rather delighted to be able to now reach Lara's hair, her fingers tangling in it. Lara looked a little unsure but held onto her carefully, balancing her on her hip and tetative smile, lifting on Lara's face. "And this is her baby bag. Just in case she gets restless but she should be no trouble. If she is though I'll let my mum know you have her and you can pass her onto her." Lara stayed to talk for a little while longer and then excused herself to find her seat and Emma waited patiently for the ceremony to begin. |

Lara laughed lightly, "I'm fairly sure he's teasing his brother," she nodded. She smiled as Leslie introduced her to her sister and her eyes widened as she explained just how big her family was. The family really was growing. "Pleased to meet you," she smiled at Lena as Maddie was passed over to her aunt, fussing a little. "And nice to meet you too Mr Duke." Lara was sure she was going to forget names and faces but that was what the reception was for. Getting to know people. Emma seemed like a really nice person, as did the rest of Leslie's family. She was also greatful for Leslie vouching for her. If she was going to have a baby of her own, she wanted to get as much experience as she could. Katie was lovely. She was happy to look after her. She took Katie in her arms, a little tentatively but soon had her balancing on her hip, tugging lightly on her hair. "I'll take good care of her and bring her back after the ceremony." A few minutes later, Katie balanced on one hip and baby bag slung over her shoulder, Lara made her way into the church and slid into the pew, sitting beside Will, setting Katie on her lap. The little girl looked up at Will shyly before giving him a small grin. "Leave your brother alone, Will," Lara rolled her eyes. "Carter you look great. As does Leslie. She looked lovely and Gabe looks nervous," she noted with amusement, glancing past Carter at Will chatting to on of his groomsment. Katie had caught sight of him and was babbling away. Perhaps that was her dad. Lara jiggled her on her lap. "I met Gabe's cousin Emma out there. I volunteered to look after her daughter during the ceremony. Will, meet Katie." |

Edward nodded slowly while looking at Victoria. He wasn`t going to argue. Not that he was emotional, and even if he believed that emotions was a load of crap, he didn`t say that it didn`t exist. And there was nothing wrong with emotions… as long as they weren`t damaging the rational mind. Although when it came to him? He had very big mistakes made in his life, exactly because of that. ”Indeed there isn`t.” he said calmly. ”But no one ever cried in any of the weddings that I had been.” he stated. Well, Elisabeth`s sister cried over their wedding, but only because she broke her finger. He didn`t think that that counted. ”Well… no one cried out of happiness.” he added. ”Purebloods somehow usually don`t show too many emotions.” Still, he returned the polite smile. He knew how most of the people looked at his believes and he didn`t care. As long as those people weren`t family. ”Oh, I`m sure about that. I don`t mean to be rude, but… this is simply a wedding.” While marrying of his daughter was much more. First of all? Saving her from taking the wrong road. Then, uniting two families. And three? Not having to deal with her ever again. ”Who`s the bride?” he wondered simply. Well, he knew a thing or two about the groom. |

Gabe stood at the front, glancing over his shoulder every now and again, at the doors to the lobby where he knew Leslie was waiting. Tor had just been out with a letter from Leslie and Gabe was more eager than ever to see his wife to be. Of course seeing her brother emerge with a letter, had made him freeze at first, worries that she was doing a runner, having second thoughts or worries... But he'd been relieved when he opened it to find it was just words of comfort. She was as excited as he was. He saw so many familiar faces, his mother, his aunt, Lara and Will, Leslie's family... Even Victoria was there but his father wasn't Gabe wasnt sure how he felt about this but if his father had wanted to be there, he would. He hadnt been there for most of his life so hat did it matter if he was here now? Gabe was just about to sit down again, thinking about how much time women took to get ready, when the wedding march started playing. He was up like a shot, eyes trained on the doors at the back of the church, everyone else disappearing. He only had eyes for one woman. |

When the march started to play, Leslie's stomach tied itself into knots. She watched as Lena walked in with Maddie, who has thankfully fallen asleep only moments ago. Then Emma and before Mya walked out, she reached back and squeezed Leslie's hand. Finally, the only people left in the lobby was her and Stephan. She straightened her dress one last time. "You're okay, Les." He said softly then kissed the side of her head before they finally entered. Her eyes locked on Gabe’s, just had to get through the ceremony, that and the next 46 steps to the altar. Walking a little quicker than in the rehearsal, Leslie finally got to the altar and Stephan kissed her cheek and hugged her, almost not wanting to let go, but eventually did. Giving her hand to Gabe and saying his part, Stephan clapped Gabe on the back and went to sit with his wife, children and grandchildren. Taking her eyes away from Gabe for only a second she looked at their witnesses. A small group but it was the people they cared about. Bringing her eyes back to Gabe she smiled. “Looking sharp.” She said and then turned to the priest. Edited by Leslie Law, Oct 25 2009, 01:33 AM.

Gabe's eyes remained trained on the double doors at the back as they opened, trying to catch a sneaky glimpse of Leslie, but she was well hidden for the moment. He grinned at Lena at as she led the way down the aisle, Maddie in her arms, fast asleep but looking gorgeous in her little white dress. They were followed closely by Emma who grinned back at him and winked (although he had a feeling the wink was directed at Kevin stood behind him). Then there was Mya. The bridal party were soon in their places and there was just Leslie and Mr Duke to emerge. Gabe held his breath. And then there she was, stepping into the doorway on her father's arm. Gabe's jaw dropped. Leslie looked stunning. Absolutely stunning. He couldn't take his eyes off of her. When their eyes locked, Gabe grinned, his expression one of absolute adoration. There was no where in the world right then, he'd rather be than right there. He watched her, every step of the way as she walked down the aisle on Stephen's arm. Gabe had never loved her more. And then there she was, stood right beside him and Gabe was still grinning as he watched her father kiss and hug her, and then place her hand in his. Gabe gave Leslie's hand a firm squeeze, stating firmly to Stephen, although his gaze never left Leslie's - "I'll take good care of her. I promise." He sensed Stephen moving to his seat, entrusting his daughter in his care. He couldn't help but redden slightly as she said he looked sharp. "Leslie, you look absolutely gorgeous," he murmured, finding it incredibly difficult to turn his gaze away towards the priest. 'Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to celebrate joining of Leslie Margot Duke and Gabriel Michael Law, in holy matrimony. The sealing of their love, for eternity. The sanctity of marriage is not to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly – but reverently, discreetly, advisedly and solemnly. It is a covenant of unconditional love, faith and trust, compassion, understanding, and communication. Into this holy estate Leslie and Gabriel come to be joined. If any person can show just cause why they may not be joined together – let them speak now or forever hold their peace.' Gabe waited for for any interuption, but there was none, not that he'd expected any. He kept glancing at Leslie, it was so difficult to keep his attention on the priest. 'Gabe, did you have a few words you wished to share?' Gabe nodded before turning to face Leslie, holding both her hands in his. "Leslie, two years ago , I was feeling so low. I was about ready to throw in the towel and give up on love but then I met you. You walked into that bar and you were the light at the end of the tunnel I needed. You renewed my faith in love. You lit a spark inside of me and for the last year and a half it has continued to burn and continued to grow. I love... no. I adore you Leslie and I always will. Everyday I wake up thinking how lucky I am that you found me and that you put up with me." He gave her hands a squeeze, smiling at her, his expression one of love, his eyes a little damp but not ashamed to be showing such emotion. They were finally tying the knot. "These last two years have been wonderful. We've laughed, we've cried... we might have argued once or twice but we've also forgive one another. I've never known a woman so loving, kind and compassionate. A loving partner, a wonderful mother to our beautiful daughter. I know I'll could never love another like I love you. Who would have guessed, a year and a half ago, that that first night, would be the start of the rest of our lives? I love you Leslie." Edited by Gabriel Law, Oct 25 2009, 03:22 AM.

Leslie smiled, finally being with Gabe again. It was weird to not sleep next to him or have him close. When they faced one another and Gabe started his vows, her hands in his, she watched as he welled up. No sooner did he get into his vows, did Leslie tear up herself. Thank Merlin for waterproof makeup. When Gabe finished his vows, Leslie let go of his hand quickly to wipe her eyes with smile. The priest turned to Leslie and he smiled. “And Leslie, you too have prepared your own vows.” He nodded for her to start. Clearing her throat, Leslie tried remembering the things she had written down. There was too much to say and not enough words to express it. “Gabe, from the time a little girl can remember she dreams of the perfect man and every single step of their lives together. It’s safe to say that the dreams of my five year old self didn’t happen the way I planned. But that’s okay because from the moment we met, you have taken me on a roller coaster ride. We’ve been through so much together, enough to last us for the rest of our lives. I knew early on that you were the one for me, it probably started after the first time I made you dinner. Within months I knew I was in love and that we would see this day together. It is actually hard to believe that ten months ago you proposed to me even knowing my fears and my past. I didn’t think I was going to say yes because I didn’t think I was ready, but as soon as those words left your mouth I knew I was. We have been through good times and tough times. I stuck by you while you were sick, and you stuck by me through the pregnancy and birth of our beautiful daughter. You’ve given me everything I need in life Gabe. You love me unconditionally, and there are no words to even begin to describe my love for you. You are an outstanding father, and you’ve been an amazing partner and I am excited to think about what each day of our future holds. I have never and will never love anyone more than you. I love you Gabe.” She said, her tears coming back. The priest moved over to Chris and held his hand open for the rings. “May I please have the rings?” He asked, taking them from the best man. Walking back to the couple he took a moment and spoke a silent prayer then handed the smaller of the two rings to Gabriel. “Please repeat after me as you place the ring on her left ring finger. This ring I give to you as a token of my love and devotion to you. I pledge to you all that I am and all that I will ever be as your husband. With this ring, I gladly marry you and join my life to yours.” |
